About Mingo...
Alberto Mingo, A self-taught producer and musician, Alberto Mingo has been producing powerful soulful house tracks since 1994. Soon after purchasing his own equipment, he released seven vinyl tracks that were so well received by the industry, he was instantly signed by record label 500 Records. Hot on the heels of that came the release of a vocal track which climbed its way up the tough-jam and Kiss FM charts, cementing his reputation as one of the hottest producers to watch.
Alberto began his musical journey in the gospel church where he sang in the local choir. One day after practise, he started banging on the vacated bongo drums and was instantly hooked. His unique skill lead him to be the headline percussionist in legendary venues such as Ministry of Sound, Pacha, The Cross and Canvas, as well as Ibiza’s Manumission, Blue Malin and Plastic People. Bert has also parternered with promoters including Kinky Malinki, Defected, Back to 95, Subliminal Sessions, Shiva, Get Diverted, Slide, and The Gallery. He's played alongside some of the biggest and best-loved names in the dance music scene, from Freemasons, Shapeshifters and Soul Avengers through to Herd and Fitz, Grant Nelson and Bobby & Steve, Dean Zheprin, Mr. C, Radio Slave, Coyu, Butch and many more! Mingo is also praised for his infectious energy.
Bert is currently working on a new album; "It’s essentially ambient jazz but with so many flavours and influences going into the tracks, I don’t want to pigeon hole it. I’m so passionate about music, and feel I’ve still got so much to give and create. I guess I’m motivated by a sense of unfinished business".
While continuing to produce soulful house tracks, Alberto is also heavily involved with his own production company, as well as sourcing talent, owning and running a record label and continuing to create prolific beats and vocals that the crowd eat up wherever he plays.
Alberto Mingo is currently working with Chicago record label, Mezzo Recordings.
